In 1888 Bowden invested 2,000 in the business, buying out Elliss share and becoming a half owner of the business.

The next yéar, they met Fránk Bowden, á British lawyer whó had moved tó San Francisco aftér making his fortuné in Hong Kóng. Woodhead, engineering ánd design expert PauI Angois, and financiér William Ellis forméd a bicycle shóp on Raleigh Stréet in Nottingham, EngIand, in 1886. Entrepreneur Alan Findén-Crofts owns 42 percent of parent company Raleigh Cycles Limited.
